It appears there's a port of Wipeout Pulse available now for PS2 - available only in Europe (?) and only from online retailers (?): www.game.co.uk/PS2/Racing/~r339144/WipEout-Pulse/ This is really strange. Word is getting out from customers playing it now, and it seems pretty cool. Would be a shame if there's no NTSC version, though.
I've read a review and some players advices, it seems to be worst than the PSP version, lots of slowdown, slow loading, camera problems, all that a lot worse in 2 players mode...

what the fuck, people still bother buying games for the PS2? I m surprised Sony would throw such a beloved title in that direction, making an allegedly bad port for a system that is not their main concern (yet somehow their cash-cow) instead of focusing on more content for the PS3 version. And only available through online retail and only in Europe? Smells like a shy fuck-up with a taste of wipeout sure to drive collectors crazy and stay in a shelf for most of the time
I think we'll see more "strange" titles in specific territories, as the PS2 dies off. Keep your eyes open - there could be some rare releases in certain countries  Kind of like when the Master System had hundreds of Euro-only games released in its later years, although not nearly on that scale. Probably just a handful for PS2. I'm sure Sony Liverpool outsourced this development. It only makes sense.
I disagree. The PS2 can still help sony making money, the same way the PSOne did. And believe me, the PS2 still sells a lot. The production costs of a game for the PS3 is very high and not all developers still want to jump on that wagon. Why make a low quality game for the PS3 when you can make a high quality PS2 title? Specially knowing that the PS2 install base is gigantic... They're even going to release a Motorstorm game for the PS2, a series that started on the PS3  On Wipeout Pulse case however, it seems that the port wasn't as good as many people hoped. Blame SCEA for that.
people like ME bother buying PS2 games because i don't have 400E to burn. also many nice releases are getting cheap on ps2 like the king of fighters ones, world heroes and such.
