Nice article. It's very refreshing to see something detailing the intended audiences and plans for the systems as far as content goes instead of the usual, "PSP w1ll b3 teh pwnz0r 0n DS b-cuz DS p0w3r = t3h suck l0l0lz!!1111" And I think that's the most info I've heard on the DS yet - the clamshell with two screens and 2 directional pads are all news to me, as was the stylus (although I knew there would be a touch screen). Maybe with this system we'll get to have some vertical shooters the way they were meant to be played?
Well according to the Wired article, it has two, and since they haven't even unveiled the thing yet, I think it's a little early to say what it definately does and does not have.
Ds looks and sounds like old school game and watch. I bet it's going to be two player fun, seeing how successful warioware is. It it was two player I'd probably get it just to meet girls with.
price wars ^^ Either way I'm going to be amazed at near PS2 level graphics on a handheld...especially considering the smaller resolution... I just hope the PSP doesn't turn into a PSX-port machine like the GBA is
Well you can bet that sony will be porting all the shit they can find to the PSP to keep the crowds happy until good PSP-made games can be bought.
Heh, we can hope not. Actually, there was a little blurb in the last issue of GMR magazine here in the 'states (I think it was last issue) that said Sony is going to be VERY critical in it's approval process concerning games that are ports of PSX/PS2 titles, as they want to foster new development on the system. And I'm not sure if you've seen that Death Jr. demo video (I can post a link to it if some people haven't seen it) but that's shaping out to look pretty cool. I think with the release of the DS and PSP is going to be the first time I'll be able to afford to buy a new console at launch time, but it will only be one, so I'm hoping they have some fantastic launch titles to make my decision tough. :smt040 Aww, come on - that's one of the reasons I bought a GBA! :smt040
I really wouldnt mind if the PSP turns out to be a "port-machine"... as long as they port the good games and leave all the crap like Spice world and Army men at bay :smt019
