Wireless 360 pad (PC version) doesn't work on 360?

I think I probably know why, but has anyone bought one of the wireless 360 pad and USB receiver packs for use on PC, and then tried using it on a 360? I recently got a slim and wanted to use the aforementioned pad for a second controller but it won't connect to it. Am I being daft and missing something? It seems to be a standard 360 pad, no markings to indicate a different model.

I'm wondering if MS made it so you can't use it with a 360 so you'd have to buy another pad especially.

You probably just need to use wireless dongle connected to the 360 for it to work.

You have to sync it ot the 360. There is a button for that bhoth on the console and on the controller.

I hadn't even thought of that, even though I'd seen the button. Excuse the ignorance, haven't followed anything 360 (or indeed current gen  ) until now.

btw: I won't need to sync it with the PC somehow will I? (again may be a daft Q.)

You mean you didn't try the sync button? You're probably the only one I know with a wireless pc pad, the wired ones were so cheap and the pc is literally in front of you.

Nope, like I say new to it all. I got a wireless pad as in my old house I had my PC connected to TV as secondary (cloned) display and PC was a fair distance from my bean bag. Besides I prefer the lack of wires anyway and it was only a fiver more than wired controller.

Good for lying in bed with wireless pad/keyboard/mouse and a big smoke :033:

You can sync it back to your USB via the button on the PC receiver then press the one on the controller.

All you need to to do is sync the 360 pad with the device you using (360 or PC) then when you go to use it on the other device re-sync it with that and your good to go.

I use my 360 wireless pad on my PC although in my case i had a 360 for a while so i bought a cheap receiver instead of getting a wired pad and also so i can play certain PC games via my HDTV whilst sitting/lying on my bed and ot having to worry about the cables.

I've seen the receivers go for between £9-15 mostly though they are around £15.

I don't know what they receiver for the wireless mice looks like but i know there is a wireless PC headset that is the same as the 360 one except being black and the included wireless receiver looks exactly the same as the xbox receiver except black, it even shows up as a Microsoft XBOX 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows. So i'd say if the receiver for the mouse is the same as that then could be the same as the xbox one.
