I'm sure it goes without explanation, but Wisdom Tree manufactured and distributed unlicensed christian video games for early consoles and PC. I was curious if anyone here collects these, or has any info about them. I know Tengen had boxes and manuals for their games, but I have never seen a packaging box for a wisdom tree game on any platform. I'm sure these were not sold as naked carts. There must have been some kind of packaging. And if there was some kind of formal box, did any titles actually include instruction manuals? How rare are these games and do they have any kind of value, in terms of collectibility? If so, are carts for a particular platform (NES, GB, Genesis), aside from SNES which only had one unlicensed release, rarer or more valuable than others? The reason I'm curious is because I was going through my old game stuff, and realized I had Gameboy cart for the King James Bible that I bought at a pawn shop years ago, and I was wondering if its just a nerdy conversation piece, or if it actually special in some fashion.
Well according to that site, my king james GB cart is worth 29.95 if it were new. I'm assuming theyre selling new GB carts of this, or else that would be pretty sketchy for someone dealing in Bible-based video games. http://www.wisdomtreegames.com/games/biblekingjames/ edit: Hmm I think I just answered my own question. While browsing their site, I actually processed the thought "Who the hell would actually pay real money for this stuff?". If they're still selling actual carts of their games for classic systems, then I guess the carts are more or less worthless...
Considering that they're still selling new boxed games..... the verdict is: nerdy conversation piece (at best)
Pretty cool though, that they have a NES emulator built in so you can play the games in your browser. Wish more companies did this.
 Wow, the title of this game made my spew mountain dew all over the key board:  Apparently you try to explain baptism to an alien race that's underwater on a different planet! Its games like this that make me lose faith in the human race, and for that, I applaud the developer(s) on making this pile of crap as it takes alot to make me lose faith in the human race. :clap:BRAVO! click me!
The only thing I know about these games is they play like crap. I've got a few of the NES carts hanging around somewhere, but I doubt any loose carts would be that valuable.
i got bible adventures for less than 10 bucks, i got it for the lulz. i showed it to my GF and kept throwing baby moses. xD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vplCZNqMdYo watch that video about this game seanbaby is hilarious <3
I signed up just to comment on this thread. About 4 years ago I contacted Wisdom Tree to ask if they had any used NES games. They had brand new games, and I was able to buy a copy of every game they sold for $5 a piece. I bought all that they had, and turned around and sold them on Ebay for $50 each. I guess nobody expected that they'd still have any in 2004.
I've actually had some fun with this one too back in the day. Jesus in Space! If only it were a manic shooter where Jesus could miraculously transform incoming bullets into bread and fish to replenish his shields. Now THAT would be an awesome game.
I actually have a sealed copy of Super Noah's Ark 3D on the SNES. I mainly picked it up because, to my knowledge, it is the only unlicensed cart ever released for the SNES in North America. http://ragol.sytes.net:41000/Collec...Entertainment System/SNES_Super3DNoahsArk.JPG The box is thinner than a standard SNES box, but the dimensions and design are very similar. In case you weren't aware, the game works somewhat like a honeybee adapter to bypass the lockout chip - you have to piggy-back a licensed cart on it before you can play the game. AFIK Wisdom Tree licensed the SNES Doom engine from id to make it.
It's the Wolfenstein engine. I'd really like a copy if anyone has one for a sane price, they fetch ridiculous sums on ebay. There's one on US ebay now for $225 and another for $52, the disparity is ridiculous.
Rob Webb have had the game for sale for ages if you find the price reasonable. http://www.robwebb.clara.co.uk/shop/snes/snes_soft.htm
I'd forgotten he'd got one (that site is a treasure trove at times, and has been for a long time) - not a bad price but probably a few quid higher than I want to go. Thanks anyway babu!
