I posted this on reddit, but I figured I would ask here. So I managed to procure a Wode and a Megadrive v5. I was planning on installing the Wode, Megadrive, and a Wii dvd drive into a gamecube. The plan is to solder the Megadrive v5 in place, then connect it to the Wode via host ffc connector, I would also use the cable included with the wode and solder the 12v,5v, and 3.3v wires to the host power on the wode from the gamecubes regulator since the wode actually uses this connector for power. Then I would just plug the wii dvd drive ffc cable into the wode, and use wii dvd power cable to get power from the wodes dvd power connector. (Is this all I would need to do to power the dvd drive? Are there any other cables needed? Or does the power cable handle everything?) Most of the guides and threads that I have been reading through use a megadrive with a wiikey/wasp which are still pretty helpful but there are a few differences. The wasp/wiikey can autoboot into swiss so they can effectively remove the need for an eject button. To my knowledge the wode cannot autoboot, but it can autoload the swiss iso, so I'd still need an eject button. That is fine for me because I was planning on using a wii dvd drive anyway to play games that use audio streaming through the wode flatmode. I'm not entirely sure how to solder the P29,3V3, and "switch" pads on the megadrive to the switch. Do I just need to wire it up like this: https://www.gc-forever.com/forums/download/file.php?id=1437 And then solder the switch to the lid pads? I was reading this thread: https://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3197 but I'm not sure what is the difference between the lid switch and eject switch, do I need both? Does this seem like a viable setup? I was either gonna try to fit the wii drive into the gamecube shell with modifications, or construct a custom shell to house the gamecube/wii drive/gameboy player. If anyone had any insight that'd be awesome!
There are 2 pads for the lid on the v5. Just put one leg to one side of the switch and one to the other. It has to be a normally open switch though. Like a refrigerator light switch. Only off when it's pressed in. Wire up the Cube lid switch it works the same way.
