I'd love to test it if I still had a Saturn :(

    Amazing work!

I promise I'll test it before the week is out!
The controls look similar to the controls in Unreal Tournament on Dreamcast!
Ohhhh boy that game was tricky with the D pad and the ABXY buttons!
There should be a lot of me walking into walls, it's what I do best! :biggrin-new:

Edit: Mind if I mirror it on Mega.co.nz? That server is choking for me! one hour for 60mb!

Not good news I'm afraid, it hangs on the license screen on Sophia.
Tried with an Action Replay Plus as well just to be sure, but it will boot no further.
I really have a hankering for some Wolfenstein now! :topsy_turvy:
Any chance of working out what might have went wrong?

I'll give it another test on some retail hardware a little later, anyone else had a chance to test on retail hardware?

Worked better on the retail Saturn, but got stuck on the screen just after the Sega license screen.

thanks retro junkie for the video but it goes after the sega screen on a real saturn, i swear!
nice to see your sophia system, you don't need to swap CD with it (for saturn ring) ? I guess your saturn is modchipped.
and sorry, you wasted a CD :(

Haha, don't worry I have a big spindle of Taiyo Yuden CDs I had bought a while back - need to use them up somehow! :tranquillity:
I'll try it on a PAL Saturn to see if it does anything further than the intro screen! :topsy_turvy:

Ohhhh I will, I promise... My Saturn gear has taken a back seat while I've been tinkering with the Aiwa Mega-CDs.
I should be pulling them back out in the next few weeks though - sorry it is so far off!
It's added to my to do list!

Worked great for me! You have to hang in there at the title screen as it takes 2+ minutes to load without knowing if it froze, but it does load if you wait. Then press A and the game starts. Nice port!

Ahhh, the old wait for a minute or two trick! :p
It does work well on the retail Saturn, guess Sophia just isn't up to the task :)

I've just pulled out one of the Sophias (240V) and it hangs at the SEGA license screen as well.
I stepped through all the different regions (and found that the PAL / NTSC switch is now working...!)

    * Pushes Sophia into a corner out of the way so some serious Wolfensteining can be done *

GAME ON! Thanks for porting such a kick ass game by the way :D

Did Wolfenstein 3D had Multiplayer right? if so, is it possible to add that feature on the next update version?

Ah in that case, I have edited the description and will do a play through on both my channels on a normal Saturn! :)
Then you can point them back to those videos :D
Thanks again for your work on these!

No, it didn't. Out of all the games driven by the same engine, only Corridor 7 and Rise of the Triad had multiplayer.

That's not to say I wouldn't like to see it... but unless we're okay with every player looking like a nazi (I wouldn't), we'd need new artwork, since the only BJ sprites in W3D are from the ending cutscene (he runs outside and jumps in the air, while the camera circles around to his front - and that's done with a total of, like, five frames or thereabouts).

I wouldn't mind playing as the same person much but with different colors of course, and i was kinda asking if it was likely possible to do that on this port. But, local Multiplayer only (and maybe online multiplayer as well if he doesn't mind or if possible at all)

I think he dislikes the nazi part over the fact that it was the same character. Given it's open source it should be possible to change the sprite for a less controversial character.

I was thinking if everyone's just a nazi you'd either have only a limited number of characters in a match, or couldn't tell the players from NPCs. Palette swapping never came to my mind :derp:
