    Can anyone advise me?

A friend is giving me a Sega Wondermega.....(for free!)

But there are no cables, pad etc....

    1. Where could I get a power supply from?
    2. What pads can I use with it?
    3. What's the best shoot em up!?

    Many thanks!....

    Every genesis compatible pads ^^.

    Silpheed is one BIG shooter.
    SoulStar may be good too.

Is the JVC X'Eye just as rare as that?

Normal Mega Drive 3 button and 6 button pads work fine.

The PSU is a Mega Drive one I think. I could check mine for you though but to be honest it will be written on the bottom of the machine what valtage you'll need.

The best shooter for the Mega CD / Wondermega is not on CD :-D Still CD games you're best getting Keio Flying Squadron, Denshin Aleste (Robo Aleste) or at a push Silpheed. Other shooters such as Sol feace (looks crap though) or Bari-Arm are worth a look but are not so great. THe best shooters are all on cartridge.

Judging from the MultiMega, I'd say the console'll use a 10vDC (center positive) ~1.2A adapter. The MultiMega uses a smaller jack (MD2 style) which the Wondermega may or not use though.

My favorite Mega Drive shooter is Truxton, mainly because I love its music.

My JVC X'Eye takes in a Genesis model 2 adaptor.

Rare as a Sega Wondermega? X'Eye fetches about $80 complete mint, Sega WM fetches $250-1K.

Ummm Silpheed is good to me because:
Very very deep music/voices/ambiances (music of stage3 is absolutely crazy).
And the gfx are like if they were in real time (even the 32x/saturn Can't do them in real time for sure).
Some levels reminds me REZ (with some psychadelic cubes).
AND, its not a simple scrolling shooter, all the screen use to rotate in x,y,z axis and its absolutely wonderful.

Get Thunderforce III & IV. They shouldn't be too expensive and are, imho, WELL worth it :smt023

  12. Indeed. TF 3, 4 and AC are ultimate quality.
