World Cup kicks off in 30minutes! I figure there is going to be a lot of talking points this World Cup so cheer, root, and vent away!

I can't wait for Spain vs Netherlands today and England vs Italy tomorrow.

I think yesterday's game was good. Brazil can play better but for the first game it was ok.

I thought Brazil were lucky tbh. Lots of possession and attacking intentions, but very little composure in / around the box.

    IMO...
A better goalie w(sh)ould have saved at least 2 of the 3 goals.
The penalty was soft (very soft), pretty much a dive.
Neymar should have seen red for the elbow on Modric.

One game in, and already the talk is about 'homer' refs and the need for TV replays. The worst start to a Football World Cup that I have seen frankly, shame.

    Oh well...

Same, although I hope S vs N isn't another card fest (although who doesn't love the odd karate kick challenge).

Also hoping Chile do a number on the crims from down under.

At the end of the game, Neymar said that he didn't want for his kick on the the first goal to be so soft. He wanted it to be stronger.
Pletikosa was not in a very good day. I agree with wheelaa, he could have save the first and third goals and I don't think the ref was right about the penalty.

The Opening Cerimony was also very weak. As a brazilian, I was expecting much more.
And a part of me wanted to see a speech before the game but Blatter and Dilma decided to stay silent because of what happened last year.

I wondering about the opening ceremony. I thought the US broadcasting station (ESPN) had missed it. I didn't know there wasn't really one. That's no fun.

Also, yea Croatia was robbed with that PK. I don't think/ hope it doesn't effect them, they play very well so they should be able to advance out their group regardless of this loss. I hope the refs aren't going to mess anything up further in the tournament, it's not that hard to ref soccer.

The opening cerimony had 30 minutes and was very poor. I was expecting much more from it.

At the game now, Cameroon and Mexico, there was 2 goals from Mexico that wasn't offsided and the referee didn't give the goal.

And it's rainning like crazy in Natal. This is common for this part of Brazil this time of the year but it's rainning for a long time now.

    The 2nd half is amazing.
    Really good.
I was expeting a good match, but I never would have expected Spain 1 x Netherlands 5 (for now).

Great match. Spain vs Chile is a huge game now (well, assuming Chile win later). Lol at Torres and the van Persie van Gaal high five though.

Intriguing first half. Cahill is quality, Chile playing delightful to watch football.

Edit: Well that was another great match to watch. If only Australia had actually turned up for the first 30 minutes...

Today, some tough games to call imo.

Colombia v Greece, I think a Colombia win against a tight defensive Greek side.
Uruguay v Costa Rica, how fit is Suarez? Tight game I think, Uruguay to squeek it.
England v Italy, heart says England, head Italy. Like most people over here I hope England play with good attacking intent, and the usual hard graft, but for once expectations are rightly low.

good show from Costa Rica, thought the penalty was just based upon the rugby esque takedown but glad they came back big time. Not sure what Uruguay were thinking not bringing Suarez on at all, but he probably couldnt fix what was going on with their midfield

Agreed, as much as I don't like Suarez off the field, on the field he is incredible. Maybe the injury is worse than most of us thought? If not Uruguay got a little ahead of themselves and now are in a big pickle
