Yep without checking wikipedia, if anyone wants to form a Assembler Games pub quiz team then I'm your man for the team. Most I remember from stupid TV programs, but I knew things like the Canary islands is named after a dog, catgut doesn't come from a cat, the 100 years war was 116 years but whats 16 years between enemies, etc, etc. You could have other questions like What colour is a blacklight? What year came before 1AD? Whats the singular of glasses? How long is a lightyear? If something is bimonthly how long does it take to happen?
What colour is a blacklight? UV purple What year came before 1AD? 1BC Whats the singular of glasses? glasses? How long is a lightyear? distance might travels in a year If something is bimonthly how long does it take to happen? 2 months
You got 1 right. 1 - Purple, not black or UV as UV is not a visible colour. 2 - 1 BC, be surprised on how many people say 0 3 - Glass. If I said a pair of glasses then the singular would be glasses but as I said glasses then it is a glass. 4 - Aproximately 9.641 petametres. As long means length, then this is the correct answer. 5 - The "correct" answer is either twice a month or once every two months. Which seems odd but go look it up if you don't believe me.
What colour is a blacklight? as void and bereft of light as a swirling vortex What year came before 1AD? 0AD (couldn't think of an amusing answer for this one) Whats the singular of glasses? a monocle (id kill for a monocle!) How long is a lightyear? depends on which toy version, my son used to have a 18inch one, but i have seen smaller ones about 2inch high If something is bimonthly how long does it take to happen? depends on the amount of time it occurs for, just because its twice a month, doesn't denote the length of time Probably non right, but meh, it entertained me for a few minutes.
Watch out, Jamtex, these questions can easily be snarkily answered. 1) Black/white/dark purple -- whatever the colour of the surface of the bulb is, when switched off. :-D (You never said when turned on...) 2) If you'd have asked anybody at the time, the year before 1 BC would be 3760 HC (Hebrew Calendar) 5) I'm really sure the 'twice a month' was put in there to harmonize the mistakes made by idiots. There's already the semi/bi distinction for half/every two. Plus also fortnightly.
Strange, I learned about "bi-monthly" last month after all of my mental notes started to conflict...heh. It gave the definition in the same basic terms, which is that it can be used for twice a month or once every two months. My own trivia... Which country do these dishes hail from? - German Chocolate Cake - Apple Pie - Yorkshire Pudding - Chop Suey
