The record for the longest continuous club mix is currently 84 hours. My mate Dom (DJ Urb) who DJs for our local Dn'B system 'System Abuse' has decided to break this record. He started Wednesday at noon in our local venue and he'll break the record as of a minute past midnight, Sunday morning. Started out rolling the Jungle, god knows what he did last night and was banging some ultimately funky house when I went to see him this afternoon. Friday night, he'll have live percussion accompanying him for Breakbeat/hiphop/DnB. Saturday night is System Abuse's normal night, so he's playing all of that himself as well. He's holding up well, considering he's been on Snickers bars since he started. We're videoing the whole thing, and recording the audio too. So just to say, good luck Dom, I know you can do it. Here's to System Abuse making it into the Guiness Book of World Records. :020::dance:

that sound really awesome. but I guess it got to be hard finding music to play ^^ and I can't really understand how he should manage to keep his head straight so I can do the mixing (or is he just doing the classic backspin? ).. I mean 84h is 3.5 days.. and I know when I was awake for 5days under a lan-party I was so totally lost.. I don't think I ever been that lost even when being drunk ^^

nha.. didn't die.. but I sleeped for a whole day when I got home the lan was from thursday to sunday.. but I had some computer problems the day before the lan.. so I had to stay up that night too x_X I remember everything feeling like it was going in slow-mo or something and I didn't really had any sense of what was going on around me.. was a little hard to focus on things and I think I will never do it again ^^
I stayed up for over 4 days once, doing 2 jobs full-time. Let me just say, i slept for over 30 hours when I hit the sack. At the mo I'm playing with polyphasic sleeping (2 hours a day) check it in the 'projects' section of my site. Andy
Polyphasic sleeping, eh? Funny, I too am experimenting with having hardly any sleep. It's called having kids.
I've got insomnia, I usually only sleep 4 hours every other day... Keep us posted on how your mate is doing?

Well, I developed some bad habits over my Christmas break. Going to bed at 7 a.m. and waking at 5 p.m. Then for the first day of school, I went to sleep at 1 a.m. and woke up and 4:30 a.m. completely rested. My class was at 12:30, so I played SW BF II for a few hours. Oh, and the most I ever went without sleeping was from 7:00 a.m. to about 5:30 p.m. the next day. And then I slept out of boredom because my Mom and Dad just had to take me on a trip into the woods in our car. The day after my all night party. I still dont know why exactly they did that...
...and I thought the longest one could've stayed up partying was from 8 PM to 7 AM, like I have! h: Wow, please share with us your secrets!... :icon_bigg
My secrets? It might have something to do with being up late a lot before. I dont know. Drink a lot of water before you go to bed. That might help.
The World Record has been well and truly thrashed!!! He hit 100 hours at 4pm today. I popped into see him then. Everyone was bouncing around to the Dn'B and he's still going strong. Looking a bit worse for it, but he's ok.
My hat comes off (metaphorically) for this great DJ. Admirable effort. Even if I don't know him or anything, send him my congratulatory remarks. ...when he wakes up.
