My gdrom on my sega dreamcast broke so i was wondering if it would be possible to modify a dreamcast to use a sata hard drive. i was wondering if it would be possible or impossible
Never heard about SATA mod, but IDE mod is real (https://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?54887-BIOS-mod-to-boot-DS-from-IDE). It involves many solder points + bios piggyback & flash. Hi, JKL
A friend of mine has successfully used an IDE to SATA adapter to marry a SATA 2.5" drive to a DC and it works as fast as the IDE drives would. Since I am not allowed to post links to the site it is on, if you google "Codename: ** Dreamcast AATA **", you should find the thread I am referring to.
