All metal shell? Would you buy one? Shiny, machined and polished metal shell.

If this particular case would feature certain *smart* features; like a built-in slot for SD + VGA and RCA-out + of course the wiring/hooks for connecting to the DC itself... then YES!

I would want to see a picture and a potential pricepoint, but I'm intrigued.

Yes as long as it's under 100$ shipped to Canada!

Would also like to see pictures before buying.

It all depends upon the finish. Will it be brushed aluminium?

this is a very good point, as nice and shiney as a polished finish would look, brushed would probably be more practical and also look pretty good too.

Hell yeah, Brushed would be a preference for me too.

    Yessir.

I've been looking to get a different looking DC and so far I don't like any of the current "special" units.

I'm definitely interested. Love the special ports idea and the price point will definitely be important.

This can't be remotely cheap... I was thinking of making a 360 one, machined myself and only counting material cost it was pretty expensive.

Brushed aluminum look, blue LED (if the plastic LED piece on top can be reused), and an SD card slot for the serial to SD hack, I'd like it. Plus Aluminum can handle heat better than plastic, keep DC cooler longer.

Never is cheap. Metal is expensive to start with. A machined one piece metal costs more than a sheet metal folded and welded to form case.

Depends on the quality and price, as always. I doubt that there'd be a huge market for a shell that is $100+ excl. shipping.

If it's identical to the oficial, and maybe in a box with a manual...

It would be nice, but the price may be a run away for me. Metal is too expensive.
