    Hey
    Looking for a clean chip modded PS1 system that will play backs. Need wires to connect to power and tv.. I have two pads. I am in Canada. Will modded ps2 do ps1 backups? if so I would consider that too!

    ps2 modchips vary. Older types didn't auto detect ps1, needing the reset button or similar.

    component video and optical audio make it easier to get ps1 games looking/sounding their best. Though a few games have ps2 compatibility issues.

    Yes I am very upset... I had a excellent shape sega/cd, with overdrive, NEs with overdrive.. and I was dumb sold it all to get a modded wii. Thought the modded wii would handle all my retro needs on a big screen. It is fine for NES and Sega but PSX and N64 suck.

    Ontario, Canada. I am not sure if I Should get a ps2 or ps2. The wii handles all the classics fine, but N64 and PSX suck ass. Wish there was a way to have all the psx games on a drive and playable... but working..... next option is a modded ps1 or 2. If I get a ps2 can I use an external hard drive for games?

    unfortunately no, you would have to use CD-R backups on the PS1 or PS2
    you can use a CFW PS3 to play PS1 games off a hard drive tho
