This type of RGB is aimed at SCART. Most TVs in the Americas need a converter box to use it.

demonseed, you need this first: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SCART-HDMI-H...=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item4ab5350bb3

or any other SCART to *whatever you want* converter. Then get yourself a scart cable often named RGB snes/n64/gamecube cable: http://www.consolemate.com.au/images/ninscart.jpg

the scart cable is a must to have because its pretty much the only cable that will get you the RGB ( test yourself using a normal n64 video cable and it wont come out ) .

then just pick up a n64 rgb modded or make it yourself ( it's a really easy experience to make, you only have to wire some wires to the board.

yeah demon, first it only works on NTSC and JAP consoles ( some people has done the PAL RGB mod but it much more complicated).

second, I think its only work on the early versions of the motherboard ( which is NUS-001 to NUS-004 I think ). So anything upper than 004 wont do.

For this just open your n64 and look at the motherboard itself, it should be written the version in big font ;)

    good luck Jim

oh and yes, I did the RGb mod and finally removed it for personal reasons but the image is different for sure. I would not say it's best than original, 'cause the polygons looks more pixellated which tends ( maybe depending the games) to be ugly.

just make sure if you do the mod that any pins aren't interconnected between themselves as it can cause odd colors on the screen.

Officially any N64 can be RGB modded but outside of a handful of Japanese, American and French N64s you have to program a CPLD and build a lovely resistor ladder which is time consuming and very easy to mistakenly miswire. I wouldn't bother trying unless earlier models somehow become extremely hard to find.

The french PAL N64's are easier to mod than the NTSC consoles.

I've just recently done the N64 RGB mod, and I can tell you it looks great! However, it does expose the N64's limitations, jaggies on polygons and blurry textures. 2D stuff looks really good though! But it's still worth it for the nice, vivid, sharp colors.

The converter box you've got at the moment sounds like it would work, assuming you're using a RGB SCART cable on your Mega Drive and you're using the box to convert to component.

The comparison between composite and RGB (with PAL SNES SCART CABLE) on N64 is enormous. But as others already said, get ready to see jaggies and square pixels instead of a blurred mess.
