So I have a model 1 Megadrive (as I hate the model 2 Genesis) I want to use in my power tower but no way of hooking up the 32X and swapping the systems gets a little tiring and the third party cables suck bawls and give bad distortion I don't get using the model 2 with official cable. So I was hoping some user out there with a model 2 and no use for that adapter would be willing to sell me one. Name your price as I don't know what they go for as eBay hasn't had one in over a month since checking. Thanks for your time.

If it is the video pass through cable you're after, the model 1 Genesis has a different plug from the model 2. You need a model 1 32X pass through cable. One for a model 2 won't work.

    Model 1=DIN
    Model 2=mini DIN

    Not rocket science thankfully.

Yes but I want the official Sega adapter that came with the 32X as it is all that is missing from my boxed set. Sorry I am anal about only the official products that came with it.

Most people threw them away. I wouldn't count on getting one apart from another 32X.

You need model 2 cable for model 1 console. Odd but the model 1 cable has male to mini female end and you then plug model 2 cable in the mini female end to complete the connection.

right. sega did not release the "superior" design fans generally think they should've. third party is the only way to connect model 1 to 32x direct, as we had hoped for all along.

My model 1 cable has horrid distortion in the audio but when I use my model 2 instead it is gone and I have tried more then one model 1 cable with the same results. Anyone know of a link to a third party adapter to convert it to the needed 8 pin DIN?

I'd try a third party cable that takes audio from the headphone jack.

Apparently the rear ports on some model 1s only output the "right" audio channel, not true mono. if that matters.

I have modded my Megadrive and Genesis model 1 to get stereo sound from the headphone jack so that isn't the problem I just need to find a 9 pin mini DIN to 8 pin DIN adapter. I have heard the points vary so I just don't want to buy the wrong one. And I no longer have the third party model one cable as I traded it for an official model 2 cable. So if I could find a working adapter I could then use my cable for both of my setups.
