I am looking for a boxed version of American Mcgee's Alice. As you can imagine it will be part of my game collection and the condition of the box is very important to me. Please let me know of holes, dents, creases, rips, etc) Can you also tell me whether she is holding a knife or a Green Crystal on the box? Lastly if you can provide pictures to my email address (rottentreats@gmail.com) I will be more than grateful. Thanks!

Was there a cardboard box release of this game? As far as I'm aware it was DVD case only.

I remember seeing a large cardboard boxed version in the US when I was there, probably seven years ago now.

I loved it at the time, but I tried replaying it a year or so ago and it really hasn't aged well. It was a lot more glitchy and unpolished than I remembered. I'd still defend it as a good game, anyway. I wonder what happened to Oz in the end...

American McGees Alice was a pretty good game. I never made it all the way to the end, but my little sister sat up all day and night until she finished it ( and then proceeded to play through it another 15,000 times, lol). She still says to this day that Alice is one of her favorite games of all time. Nothing like a Quake 3 engine (IIRC) powered romp through wonderland, lol.

Yes, and the boxed versions are sooo amazing. I have already purchased the "Green Crystal" version http://picasaweb.google.com/ponchopunch/Half?authkey=gHY6v0hKXd0&feat=directlink

Now I am looking for the "Bloody Knife" version... :) Of course I found some on eBay but I thought I would ask here also.

The version i had was boxed, and IIRC she was holding a bloody knife. I gave the game to my little sis, and she lives in Arizona now, so next time i talk to her ill ask her which one i gave her. Is the bloody knife version rare or something?

I wouldn't say it's rare, but there is a decent collector's market for this game nowadays. The bloody knife version was replaced several months after release with the green wand version due to censorship issues. They typically go for $50-$60 in mint/complete shape and more sealed/new.

I have cardboard box. Awesome game. Got it new for $5 clearance.
Worth it for the artwork alone.

There are several copies on eBay. If you think you'll find someone who doesn't know what it's worth on a collector's forum and will sell you it dirt cheap, think again ;-)

You may want to check your local big lots. I saw a copy at the local store the other day. It has sold since then, however different stores get different allocations of games.

Sucks the game wasn't that great, the artwork was really cool. I use to have it laying around, I think I gave it to someone.

Looks awesome. I picked the game up at launch and never saw the cardboard box edition for sale although this was at the time when the UK began to phase them out to make room for all of the copies of Fifa they had to put on the shelves.

I did enjoy the game, apart from the frustrating waterfall section.
