    Thanks for the hint.

    The ARPEX extension box allows you to connect very old PlayStation cheat cartridges to a PC with a standard parallel cable. Normally you need a Commslink card for those cheat carts. The ARPEX can do it without the Commslink. However you need a special software for the ARPEX.

    I already have the software, so I need only the small ARPEX box.

    Commslink is all of $9-14, not interested?

    I assume it's for collecting. I've only seen one ONCE, so it's probably
    going to show up on ebay.uk instead of usa.

    Commslink requires an old PC with an ISA slot, I have only an old laptop. And as you guessed it's mostly for collection purposes :)
