Well the games for N64 were published by Gradiente in Brazil.

They are not special, sometimes only translated in portuguese but that is all.

But i don't know how to buy some :(

What is special is the laws in brazil, they demand most of it be made in brazil.

Can someone point to an example picture? How would you tell it's a Brazilian version?

    Oh dear. Here's a hint:

If they're published by Gradiente, that means they'll have Gradiente on them! The ratings will obviously be different, too.... most likely in Portuguese!!

Seems I was right on both counts ;-)

Well, from 1993 till 1996, it will have Nintendo + Playtronic logo.

Playtronic was a joint venture between Gradiente (electronics) and Estrela (toy company). On 1996, Estrela sold it's part to Gradiente, and then from 1996 till 2003 it was Nintendo by Gradiente.

But now Nintendo stuff is distributed by Latamel Inc (it does all latin america).

    Believe me, that's changing.

For example any Xbox360 item, be it the console, games and acessories, sold by Microsoft Brasil, are imported from the Mexican factory.

Handy info there, thanks Johnny!

Did Playtronic/Gradiente make N64 consoles, too? I guess they would have looked different from American or Japanese ones?

Yep. Nintendo's only factory on the american continent.

All consoles (NES, SNES, N64) were the same ones as the US model, apart from having PAL-M video output.

I'm not interely sure the Gamecube was manufactured here (probably imported).

Anyway, ever since Latamel got the distribution rights, all games and consoles are imported from USA. That means GBA, Wii and DS.

I'm guessing there are no Brazilian only games? And Turok 2 is presumably the US version (not the robots)?

Actually, does someone have a full list of Brazilian versions? Curious which made it, which didn't.

Well, those games had subtitles or were translated into portuguese.

    Shadow Man
    Fifa 98
    South Park

As for the rest, i think all games released in US were avaiable here.

I have like 5 or 6 factory sealed games published by Gradiente, 2 opened (but complete mint) and 1 loose. I'm located in Brazil, would you still be interested? i consider trading for arcade sticks (dreamcast,xbox,ps2 and gamecube) but i assume it'd be kinda complicated to perform a trade.. i have like 15 recomendations on mercadolivre.com.br btw... no big seller but a serious person to deal with. pm me if you're interested, i can post pics of them.

Sorry, to clarify, these games actually had changes to add portuguese subtitles? Or were they all just straight copies with english.

    Shadow Man
    Fifa 98
    South Park

Shadow Man and South Park are probably subtitled. Fifa 98 is probably fully translated.
