This is going to be a bit of a long shot , but Im looking for a broken Sega Saturn (Model 2) with a dead laser or Disc read issues , cosmetically it doesnt really matter , or just a motherboard and psu from a model 2 :(

Why: Just got mine modded this weekend and was playing Panzer Dragoon Zwei, and the lightning hit my house, LCD , PC, Saturn and everything els that was plugged in is dead :( , the saturn was hit pretty badly and the psu was damaged (I think I fixed diode and some caps where dead, gives proper voltage now) but it would seem that the mother board is allso foobar it just displays garbage on the screen then goes blank :banghead: I doubt its repairable ,fuses etc is fine , so I'm in desperate need of a donar machine ...

PS forgot to mention it was a "Model 2 32 Pin IC" see here http://www.segastyle.com/model232.html

The "32 Pin IC" aspect FYI is *just* the laser controller board the ribbon comes out of to your modboard. I don't know for sure but you might be able to get ahold of any Saturn (32 or 64 pin or Sanyo) and swap the laser units around.

Don't quote me on that as I've never done it nor have I read about anyone doing it. If you like I could potentially grab a broken Saturn off eBay for you and ship it as an intermediary. Shipping to South Africa from the US isn't cheap though but from what I recall of a friend living there, nor are Sega Saturns.

    I didn't know the 64 and 32 ones are interchangeable :)

Thank you for the offer, I've actually been keeping my eyes on ebay for the last few days, biggest problem seems to be that they don't mention what is wrong with the unit or cant test the actual unit itself because of not having cables etc, so I think Im going to leave it as a last resort only,if no one responds in a few weeks on my posts, but thanks for again for the offer its much appreciated.
