I am looking for a chipped Playstation 2, Phat or Slim version, as long as fully functional I don't care. I need just the console, no cables, no controllers.

I have one. I modded it myself. Installed a Modbo 4.0 IC with neat wiring and perfect solder joints.

How much were you looking for one?

You have the goods, you make the offer.

Also shipping from Australia is going to be a lot I guess.

Probably. It wouldn't be much better if I were to sell mine, that's from USA. Really should be tracking down higher quality imports. As if I'm likely to ever play this sumo wrestling one I'd found, let alone with the modded system's connected TV dead.

Funnily enough, I've got a modded SCPH-30003 R (PAL v5) motherboard but no other parts to go along with it. I'm in Europe too (UK), so it would be cheaper than the other offers. You can have it for £5 + postage cost if you want it? Then you could use it to replace the unmodded motherboard in any v5-v8 machine.

Hmm... I guess it is not worth it then. Postage would be around $35 I reckon.

Could you at least let me know if you would want the motherboard?

Oh, sorry. I have no use for it since I don't have any PS2 atm. Thanks for the offer.

I think the only real reason to own a chipped PS2 now is to boot PS1 games properly, meaning the CDDA is still in tact. When disc swapping (cold or hot swap), the music is out of whack as everyone knows. Which annoys me to the point where I hardly use the PS2 for PSX gaming.

Luckily I found a chipped PS1 at GameStation for £1.

Got One over here in Germany, old model, I think it even still has the Firewire-port.
Have to look up what kind of chip is inside, iirc it was an infectus or something like that. Found out that it was chipped by accident when I held a button pressed while booting, just wanted it to play Gran Turismo IV ^^

I need it to be region free, that is why I want a chip over MCBoot, I even still have a memory card with FreeMCB installed on it.

So it is one of the older non-direct-boot chips, right? Anyway, name your price :)

No, it's a direct boot chip, you just need to hold a button to access its settings menu, but it can even be soft-updated.
will check tonight the console for function, didn't have the time yesterday. Will try to boot different media to make sure it's alright, if so I'll PM you.

Edit: It's some kin of Matrix Chip (Matrix Infinity? will have to check), been looking up pictures of the menu and they seem to match.

Edit: Sorry, didn't work right, see pm
