WTB: Dell Latitude D800 for parts

I may be getting a broken D800 from a friend. I looked it over and it appears the motherboard has a bad 19volt cap somewhere on it. I looked over the board and couldnt find it but everything on the internet and my exp tells me that the mobo is the problem.

It wont turn on AT ALL. And when you plug the AC adapter into the wall the green light comes on (on the adapter box itself) but as soon as its plugged into the laptop that light goes off completly and wont come back on until you unplug the laptop and replug the wall end.

The screen and other parts seem to be ok so I want to take a shot at rebuilding it. I only need parts and it would be ideal if somoene had a unit with a cracked screen or no screen at all.

I would love to get the palmrest and plastic base of the laptop as the one on this one is dinged up good and 3 screwholes are ripped out

It could be the solder joint of where the power cord hooks up to. Could also be a bad A/C adaptor that shuts off after putting a load on it.

 

I checked the plug really well and its fine. and its not the AC adapter cause I have 2 of them lol and both do the exact same thing when plugged into that laptop
