Hello! I'm devhackr of the prototopia project. I am attempting to put together a selection of development hardware for various consoles, in an effort to help document and archive anything regarding the development of certain systems. Currently I have a handful of stuff, nothing really substantial. What I would like to purchase the following: an xbox OG test unit, a Sega katana unit, gamecube dev hardware of any kind, and possibly others. These units will be used for game preservation and research. Condition cosmetically is irrelevant to me. In fact if you have ugly, beat up units that would be preferred. I like my equipment to have character. But it does have to be functional or easily repaired. I can fix most small problems. I have funds set aside, so I can get this deal going today possibly.

Are you also looking for variations of development systems such as the Sophia and Cartridge Development Saturn, for example? What will be the extent of documentation? I don't have any hardware to contribute, but I am curious.

Honestly, with it being a DVT4 and seals already popped, this would be a better way to go. I did the same with my DVT4, seals were popped so I upgraded the HDD and disc drive, recovered the kit and now use it primarily for archiving beta/debug builds.

Do it. Far better than getting a green debug kit especially since this one already has what you need.

For what you're doing with it, nothing much. Appearance mostly. You could connect it to a PC via the cable if you had it and the xdk raptor card in an old enough computer. Think of a dvt4 as an OG debug kit with an internal sidecar. But failing that, the main thing is they're more valuable, highly sought after and this one has the upgrades you need and no warranty seals to break your heart.

Broken seals mean nothing to me. If that's the case I'll focus on a debug green job or a pcb
