    Looking for a Doctor V64 256M
and possibly accessories like DS1 Save Card and or other accessories

Also may be looking for a UFO CD64 256M

my current DocV64 has been acting wierd, so would definatly like a replacement for that

do any companies still possibly sell either of these Units?

    any help is greatly apreciated.

    thanks

hey there. I have a loose, working, good condition DocV64 256M that i d be willing to part with, but shipping from Germany may put the price up a bit. What i am asking is pretty much a shot in the dark, and may be too expensive, but under that it wont be interesting for me to sell it. I'd ask 130 EUR + shipping.

if you are still interested, i can make a few shots of the unit and send them over.

    oki Liquitt.

Lets wait a few days and if Loafy does not respond / isn't interested, we ll work something out. I actually need to get and test the unit before sending it over, it's not been used for a while and sits in my "hardware archive" :)

    cheers

oh i forgot - i can also supply a DS-1 SuperSaver with the unit for +30EUR. the unit is useable without it though, i will pack in you the normal cartridge adapter and a copy of Episode1 Racer (it was one of the SRAM save carts) for free.

So essentially, heres what you ll get:

    - DocV64 loose in good condition
    - with some old CD-ROM drive
    - AC adaptor
    - 2 RAM modules, 256 MBit total
    - 1 *broken*, spare 128MBit RAM module (if you want it, and if i can find it)
    - Cartridge adaptor that goes on top of N64 unit
    - V64 Connector that goes on the bottom of the N64
    - Starwars EP1 Racer cartridge

    Optionally:
    - DS-1 Supersaver module

This isn't an attempt to buy but I'm curious. Can the DV64 play all size roms including 512mbit or is it limited to 256mbit? Is that what the RAM modules are for? How does it handles saves?

It's limited to 256Mbit. It handles saves by using your plugin cart's EEPROM/SRAM/flash. Everytime you play a new game and save to the same plugin cart, you loose your previous save of course. However, there are the DS-1 and DX-256 save adapters. These replace the regular "Doctor V64 Emulation Adapter" (which simply terminates the ROM) and additionally provide onboard SRAM/EEPROM. This way, you don't need to overwrite your plugin cartridge's save. The DX-256 provides 256x4k pages of EEPROM and DS-1 provides 2M of SRAM.

Nope, the archetecture allows only 256M.

BTW, I have an extra brand new CD64. I may part with it for a gross offer over it's retail.

Companies as in the makers? If so, no, these are all products of the late 90s and the supply has diminished by now. UFO had stock of the CD64 until last year however but has since run out. If you're looking for used units, just look around, plenty of both western and eastern internet shops carry them.
