Thanks for your suggestion, but thats alittle more than I was hoping to pay right now  (mainly because of the low value of the UK pound against the US dollar at the moment. A year ago $130 would have been about £65-£70 which is quite good, but now $130 is almost £90 which is too much, and thats without shipping costs!)
Thanks for the thought though ;-)

Are you looking for one to play games or just dump DC images. if you want to just dump them then buy a LAN adapter that is what I did. And when I play PSO I just network my 56k modem to my PC and share is broadband connection which is plenty of enough BW to play PSO. The rest of the servers are shut down and I don't think there are hacked servers like my PSO copy. Anyhow sorry to but in just thought it might help.

Hi, Thanks for the replies - I have just sent an email to Japan-Games, hopefully they can help

Its mainly for trying abit of homebrew etc, not really for dumping games. I thought that alot of homebrew programs didnt work with the LAN Adaptor? Also, the LAN Adaptor doesnt seem to be any easier to find than a BBA - unless you know of a cheap source(?) - If so I would be interested!

With the DC-PC internet connection - are you running Windows XP? If so may I ask how you are managing to do it? All the guides I have seen say that it only works on Windows 98 :crying:

If it's for uploading homebrews to the Dreamcast or downloading stuff from the Dreamcast, both the BBA & the LAN adaptor will work, as long as you use the latest release of dcload-ip (1.0.4: http://sourceforge.net/project/shownotes.php?release_id=178294)

Official games only worked with the BBA I think. (hence the remark of Raziel)

Thanks for the info  I didnt know dcload-ip now supported the LAN adaptor, last time I checked they were only 'experimenting' with it, but hadnt got it to work reliably.

I would still like a broadband adaptor if anybody has one available, but I am now interested in a LAN adaptor aswell - Does anybody have one available for a reasonable price, or know of a good source that has them?

    Thanks

if its just for small homebrew, the coders cable will work too.

you can get those for under 15 pounds now.

I think a coders cable would be abit too slow for my needs, but I am intrigued as to where you can still get a coders cable for £15? Everywhere I have seen have been sold out for a long time...

Don't use the coders cable for uploading stuff unless you are desperate. You will get extremly irritaded of it's slowness when doing rappid turn-around debug cycles.

Well the place I knew in the UK with LAN adapters the price has went back up :( It is now 90 GBP but it is at least new. My friend was selling his I will ask if he still has it since he got his BBA. If you know Japanese and are handy with a solder I have the specs to build your own BBA from scratch for the DC.

there went a boxed one on ebay for 65 pounds yesterday.

and there are several up for sale, they pop up quite often lately.
just ask the seller nicely if he can ship to europe, too.
and make an offer for the other one.

Thanks for your suggestions, I know the auction you mean! - this one right:-

    http://cgi.ebay.com/SEGA-Dreamcast-BROADBAND-ADAPTER-HIT-0401-Premier-CD_W0QQitemZ280287288758

I actually bidnipped it for $100.00 for a second after the high bidders bid, so my bid ended up not being placed :crying:

The other seller from the USA I emailed 3 or 4 days ago asking if they would ship to the UK, but they havent replied so I guess they dont want to

and the last one in Japan I have emailed and asked if they would accept a best offer for $100.00, but somehow I dont think they will accept it.

    I will keep trying though!

Basic rule for ebay: never use round numbers when you bid, chances are higher that somebody will bid for the same amount :)
