WTB: FM Towns Marty 1 Controller

Loose or not, either is fine. Got a controller-less Marty 1 on the way and I'd REALLY like to find a controller within the next couple of weeks. I'll pay cash same-day via Paypal.

Bonus points if you have a bead on an original instruction manual or other ephemera.

I posted the request over at DP a few days ago, no bites so far.

 

Do you need it to complete a system, or just to play games? It has no logic...and it's a 9 pin port...so an industrious individual could easily build one themself!

Mostly to accomplish both. I got a decent enough deal on the Marty itself that I'll work from the bottom up toward completion, not that I ever expect to find a loose box or anything. The manuals and the controller are enough to satisfy me. I've got some notes out to eBay sellers and other people seeing if a controller might pop up somewhere, so here's hoping.

I've got Galaxy Force II and Viewpoint on the way, so I'm eager to get it up and running in the next couple of weeks.

Ok dudes, I'm in luck. EBay's DREAM_STARS_JAPAN happened to have an FM Towns pad new in the plastic. Same as the Marty controller, only it just says "Fujitsu" on the pad rather than "Marty". Otherwise identical. I say "Good enough".



Turned out to cost a bit more than I'd hoped, but it was better than the alternative. Only eBay's superb_articles_from_japan had another pad, but it was the old, old school pad that looked as ergonomic as a brick. Game Choice Club and about 4 others I asked were all out of FM Towns & Marty controllers, period. Still, all said and done I got a half-price deal on the Marty even when I include the price of the new controller, so it's a net-positive.

Any word on manuals, wheelaa? I also want to pick up a half-dozen of those FDD belts when you get those sourced (see other thread).
