    Hi,

I have just bought 3 faulty game gears, and I'm looking to buy replacement capacitors for the 3. All 3 are the 2 ASIC model.

    Thanks

You can buy them from any of the suppliers in my sticky in the repair forum. You'll have to select the capacitors yourself, though.

As a last resort, if you have no joy, give me a shout. I'm not putting in an order for capacitors just yet, though... and the ones I stock tend to be not so cheap. I can't remember how much a cap kit would cost offhand.... although I will probably be selling them properly in the future.

    Hi retro,

I have bookmarked a few I need from CPC, but I was going to wait until I need a few other parts and buy everything in bulk in a few months time. If anyone had any made up kits for a decent price in the meantime, I would consider buying them to get these done out of the way. I want to give either the LED or DSi backlight mod a go, but obviously I need them working first.

If it helps, I have a discount code for RS that'll only work this week. It's only 5% off orders over £50 / 10% off orders over £100, though... and to be honest, their prices aren't always the best on capacitors.

Off to do a repair tomorrow - if it turns out I need to order new parts, I'll cost up a kit.

Thanks for that retro, but I have gone and placed an order from CPC. I completely forgot that they offer free delivery (got them confused with farnell), so there was no reason for me not to buy them. Might be a nice idea to stock kits in the future though.

No problem. I probably do need to stock up myself pretty soon, so I will certainly consider it and let any interested parties know.
