WTB: Japanes/modded PS2 console

Hi!
I am searching for cheap japanese/or modded PS2 console to play some shoot em ups.
Box is not necessary, only the console and the cables to hook it up.

Hello and welcome to the forums. I had this same problem about a year and a half ago.

I am good at softmods and such so I looked into a way to softmod a PS2. My PS2 uses a PS1 save file exploit to launch custom apps from the mem card. All I have to do is have a PS1 game in the drive and my mem card in slot 1 and when I turn on the PS2 the exploit kicks in and takes me to my custom programs.

From there I run a program called HD loader. It allows you to run games that are on the PS2 HDD (standard HDD that plugs in via the network adapter) I have all my NTSC-J ps2 games on the HDD and I just play them from there. As a bonus loading is faster from the HDD and you never have to worry about damaging those discs.

Of course this method will also allow you to play your home region games from the HDD as well.

 

I used to use the same exploit to run CogSwap to play ESPGaluda and Mushihimesama...worked great :thumbsup:

CogSwap worked, but swapping discs was a pain all the time. I never had a hard drive to use HDLoader, so I found a DTL-H10000S for cheap :thumbsup:

 

I have a modded ps2 that I could let go for about 175 USD plus shipping. It was purchased new and modded when I got it. It has only been used a few times. Let me know if you are interested.
