WTB (US): large PS2-ready IDE HDD

How about pointing me in the right direction? I've got a region mod PS2. Yet no hard drive to improve load times...

250+ GB is preferred, barring poor reliability or other issues. I need it to work! Thanks. :)

What you need is FreeMCBoot with HD/OPenps2loader, a Network adapter, most IDE harddrives work, some will require you to dismantle the inner casing of the network adapter to make it fit.

HDLoader itself or WinHiip will format the drive for PS2 use.

Useful idea. First step is getting a drive.

I have a hard time finding anything larger than 80gb. I'd suggest checking Ebay for old Tivos, most used IDE and you can verify if using the Tivo wiki out there.

Avoid Western Digital unless you want to cutup or remove the metal plate in the Network Adapter. Maxtor Drives fit without any cutting.
