    Looking for a higher end chip to upgrade the missus's laptop from a T4400. Let me know if you have something higher end of that type (1066 FSB, 2.4ghz+)

    P series would be fine, I overlooked those in my search it would seem.

    Would the CPU pulled from an iMac have the same socket? I believe I have one here somewhere that may fit the bill though I can't remember offhand which C2D it was.

    Yes, they are the same socket (assuming its actually socketed and not BGA)

    In the iMacs they are; the ZIF socket uses a screw type mechanism to secure the CPU in place. I'll dig through my boxes of random parts and see if I still have it.
