So I'm going for it.

DVD drive, standard DVD capabilities are perfectly fine.
4 discs, 5 discs? sure.

I don't understand, are you looking for a standalone player or a rom drive for a machine?

I am looking for a drive, not a standalone player. According to several users, they exist in DVD format.
