    Ideally Z64 :)

    -out of curiosity which is acknlowdged to be the best n64 backup device?

    The best Backup device is the Z64 V2 with 256Mbit.

    yeah, and modded with compact flash instead of the zip drive.

    yeah, but you are bound to use your pc every time you want to load a new game. and that kinda sucks.

    that, or you have the mgd3 kit to load roms from your playstation.

    they pop up every now and then on ebay.

    the v2 had better build quality, they designed the v3 cheaper for more profit.
    i have a z64 v3, some of the v3's have a defective transistor and those units are known to freeze often due to overheating. mine luckily is not one of those. its a gamble if you buy a v3, although one could replace the transistor and maybe install a fan if need be.

    or if you interested i have a dr v 64 256mbit works very well never had any probs bout 4 games you cant play
