Hey Paybacks3, you should post that on Neo-Geo forum.

Try to contact Xian Xi, he's awesome and will be able to do the right service for you.

on their site ? i was just singed up and was checking out the FS section. Wonder after everything would it just be cheaper getting an Omega ??... it also might look nicer with everything else in the collection .. upside about a board as a CMVS is its a conversational piece

The Omega is an awesome system. It's half way to the AES aesthetic but retaining the cheapest of the MVS collection.

I like it but if you want the best of the best try to get a 2 slots consolized. This board is the king of the kings.

Why? It has 2 slots for cartridges and while 4 and 6 way slots do exist those are much more inclined to failure and problems.

This board has backup ram used by MVS games while it also has memory card support. So if you get Unibios on it you can use AES mode in it's full way.

While we are talking about unibios, installing unibios (and eventually updating it) the bios uses a socket which makes things way easier like swapping a video game cartridge.

The board has the controller input DB15 already by default avoiding the need for further modification.

Try to get one with the battery mod and 5v mod done for you.
The battery mod come in handy because those rechargeable batteries sometimes leak and they easily discharge. Those boards were made to be powered 12h ours a day.

The 5v mod is something you should do because you don't need 12v which is only used for audio amplification since you will be hooking this board to your tv which already has amplification.

In my example, since I use RGB for all my systems (when it's possible) I only had to wire the RGB Sync and Audio pins to a Din8 female plug and add a power input jack and a switch.
So it's a fairly easy board to consolize.

Each way, with the Omega or a consolized 2 slots you will be able to enjoy the entire NeoGeo experience.

Better yet, get a portable made.

I would have one myself but I'm doing another project that is eating my funds up...

I believe Ben only made 2 of those and one sold for 800+ on ebay - if I'm not mistaken.

Fandangos Dude you are the man .. thanks for your insight and taking time to do that write up for me with all the benefits of each ... now i'm leaning towards a 2 slot MVS with a battery mod. Then from there work on making a custom case for it myself.

Mine is way more simplistic. Those pictures I took the day I've finished it.

I've added as many feet I could so it's really steady.
