Looking to buy an NES2 (NES top loader) for a friend but also looking for it to be RGB modded.
    How much would it cost.
How much is an rgb mod for an unmodded NES2?
    Thank you.

Expensive part is the rgb chip. They can be $150 to 200 each.

I think your out of luck :p From what i read no such thing exist.
There is the Sharp Titler, which is a FC clone that has RGB but that would set you around 600-700 USD so...

Cheapest option is to buy a Famicom AV and do the mod yourself. Using Yahoo auction you might get an AV for say, 50$ shipped? Then find a Playchoice-10 PPU, they are rare but they come up once in a while on ebay and elsewhere. The ppu alone usually sells for 150-200 usd. Sadly a RGB NES mod is still a luxury even when you do everything yourself.

$150-200 seems pretty high for the ppu. All the ones I have seen on ebay went for ~£60 ($90 ish)

This board definitely was a good price. From what ive seen in the past couple months in ebay America, it was between 140 - 300$ in completed auctions, all sold. ( Yes someone paid 300$ ) -> http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Nintendo-Pla...AU_Video_Game_Accessories&hash=item27cb2defa3

But i only searched for "NES RGB" "RC2C03B" or "RP2C03B"

Maybe deals to be had are from some playchoice mobos somewhere.

That seems to be about right in the UK, I checked US ebay and you are right - they seem to go for a lot more.
