Does anyone have a spare CD-i controller they’d be willing to part with for a fair price? I’m looking for the three button controller, but I’m also interested in the adapter that allows for a Genesis controller to be connected.

Is this for collection purposes, or to actually play something with? Because there's other options that may be easier/cheaper to get a hold of.

I have a thread, on here where I'm working on a PC Gamepad to CDI. I have all the parts. Just need to build it when I can find the time.

Snes to cdi adapter is another great option, it uses an Arduino.

It's not for a collection, I intend to use it. I'd rather have the original controller, but I'm willing to use an adapter if I can't find one. The only one I see on ebay is $60 and has $30 shipping, which is much higher than I'd like to spend.

I think the very lowest I've ever seen a pad go for was €35 + ~€20 shipping (to me, no idea what the buyer paid)... Which, while cheaper than the one you're seeing, shows that they are very expensive.
If I was in your position and just wanted sth to play with I'd completely forget about the offical stuff and simply go with a Hackmann-type or cdi2snes/Arduino adapter tbh. The former is has harder-to-source parts but supports PC joysticks and gamepads (and also mice, I think? Or maybe it only emulates one? not sure), the latter is very cheap and simple to make but only supports the SNES pad, obviously.
