WTB: Playstation 2 HDD

I am looking for an official Playstation 2 hard drive. I have an SCPH-20401e but it recently stopped being recognized by the PS2. It will show up in my PC disk management and WinHIIP recognizes it, but neither the PS2 HDD Utility Disc 1.10 nor HDLoader will recognize it.

I've done hours of troubleshooting and either the disk is damaged (somehow) or the firmware is corrupt. Either way, I would like a new one.

I just need the HDD itself but if you have some other stuff along with it (discs, packaging, FF games, ect) I'll take it as well.

Honestly, you're wasting your time. Go buy a SATA version of the adapter, the one's I've found are well built and work awesome. Either way, normal drives WILL work using HD Advance or any loader.

 

I want it more as a collectors item/nostalgic piece. I have an Ethernet Adapter I modded myself with an IDE to SATA converter, it's plugged into one of my PS2s (I think v9) with a 500GB hard drive.

I simply want the HDD to show up in the Browser menu for file transfer. Silly, I know XD

 

theres a few hacked hd osd dumps out there, not difficult to find . its easy to write them to a hd. it should then work pretty much like a original sony hd + theres even dumps with lots of preinstalled tools in the osd. the only limit is, just up to 128gb are usable of bigger hds.

 

I've got a complete, boxed FFXI kit but I wouldn't let it go for much less than I paid given it is 100% complete.

 

I have one I can part with, but I'm more curious about your ps2 network adapter ide to sata mod.

The Network adapter mod by kaBUMz - PS2BBA-SCPH10281+10350-DELOCK (English).zip

I used an SCPH-10281 (Ethernet+modem) because you can fit the entire mod inside the original casing.

 

So that is how Snowkitty has been making these. He did everything but claim he came up with the concept himself.
