WTB: PlayStation Keyboard Adaptor and Modem (that's PS1)

Discussion in 'Want to Buy Requests (WTB)' started by Benedict_Arnold, Nov 28, 2005.

  1. I know someone purchased two (I think 2) keyboard adaptors a few years ago on ebay. So I know they exist. I have proof that a modem existed, but may not have been released officially. I am looking for both components.

I bought a bunch on them ebay. I think I have 8-10 of them left somewhere in this house. I think I traded/gave one or two away but I forget who ended up with them. The seller said he had 15-20 which were all sold on eBay.

The rest were sold to other buyers. I wish I would have kept the auctions saved on my computer. They all went dirt cheap.

What were these devices used for by any chance?

They were used for Lightspan games.

  6. SharkWire is interesting. I think Sony was working on one, but now I'm curious and wanting the Sharkwire too. Are you selling that Assembler?

BuyAtari had sold the keyboard adaptors a few years back. I don't know if they were used on Lightspan because I don't see any indication on the Lightspan discs (but I really didn't look too hard). Most of the Lightspan games I tried just mention the controller in the instruction booklet.

I thought Interact only made the N64 model, which sell for $9 on ebay. I never heard of a PSX variant.

    As for Sharkwire:
Only the N64 version was released, the PSX one was planned, but never came to fruition due to the abysmal N64 sales.

Oddly enough, providing content to the Sharkwire service was how I got my job at Interact years ago. I actually held the PSX version in my hands...thank god it never came out. Nothin like a 28.8 modem that only goes to one text based web-site for all your gaming needs.

Never realized they had the box artowrk and packaging already set...nice photos Assembler.
