WTB: PS2 HDD Utility Disc

Will buy for 20$ + shipping. From USA so looking for english.

Will also buy Final Fantasy Vanadiel Collection 2008 for PS2 for 10$+ shipping.

What do u need the utility disc for?

 

I really only need it for a one time format of my Hard Drive so I can play FFXI online. Honestly if anyone were willing to a borrow thing I'd ship it right back after im done formatting it.

 

Have u got a P-ata hdd and ps2 hdd/network adapter? What model is your ps2?

Your best bet is to get a memory card with FreeMcBoot on it, then u can add as many different apps to that, HD loader, OPL, etc. here's a link to apps site for more info on HDloader and OPL.

I used this for my Hdd, now I can run all my ps2 games from OPL, never needed rare original discs. U can even transfer games to hdd over home network. I can put a memory card together for u but it would cost for memory card and shipping from UK. Let me know if interested.

Ps, how do u play FFXI online when ps2 network no longer exists ( to my knowledge).

 

Square Enix servers are different to that of Playstation Network. Also, as much as I wish this would work, Hard Drives has DRM on them, and for me to be able to play FFXI, I would have to have DRM linked to my console and hard drive, the only way to acheive this is the utility disc as simply using homebrew will not allow me to achieve this unfortunately. :/

Just had a read through of your other thread. I now see what u are trying to achieve. Have u got an official sony hdd (whatever that is)?

Do u just need to format with utility disc? Does your FFXI disc sort out the rest?

U can use either a soft mod mc (freemcboot) and disc swap a burnt copy of utility disc. Or use a swap magic disc and do the same thing. I will do some experimenting with my softmod over the next few weeks, if it works I can send u a soft mod memory card and/ or a copy of swap magic to get utilities booting on your ps2.
