    needs vga adapter

    not really fussed about the network/hdd adapter or keyboard

    You should mention what version you want, PAL, NTSC U/C or NTSC/J?
    You can easily find homemade VGA cbale on Yahoo auctions.

    I've been trying to find an NTSC one (just the discs) and only saw complete kits on eBay every now and then for overbloated prices...

    PAL or NTSC - either one will work with VGA

    It may work on VGA but you PS2 need to be PAL or NTSC to boot the discs, if you have no mod-chip

    Although I haven't tried myself, I doubt the official PS2 Linux will install/work in a modded console... at least not without some kind of hack.
