WTB: PS3 SLIM TEST unit

Urgently require a slim PS3 TEST console. I do not mind if PAL or USA. Prefer loaded with latest debug fw. I will pay in advance by paypal or wire and can cover express shipping. PM me if you have a unit, best price paid.

My question is why does it have to be SLIM though? They may be sexier, but the PHAT TEST units have ps2 bc, larger flash memory, as well as the extra sd slots and stuff.

 

Actually not all of them have ps2 BC, only the DECHA ones do, the DECHJ do not have the ps2, the extra sd slots etc etc that the DECHA consoles have, in fact DECHA are getting damn rare nowadays (and would probably fetch a higher price on the gray market than a DECH-2*00 and certainly a lot more than DECHJ units.) DECH-2000 and DECH-2500 are harder to come by (except for the 2500 if you buy them off sony) because they are newer, the DECH-2000A are more of a prised item for a collector because they have the "test" markings, the ones sony sell today (DECH-2500AS) no longer have the "test" branding on the top, that makes those less sexy when it comes to pure aesthetic

The DECH-2000 weren't sold from sony for long either (I think they were for sale for like 2 or 3 months) so there are probably not as many around as DECH-2500AS, makes then a bit more rare and valuable as well from a collector standpoint. The DECH-2500AS have slightly better power consumptions and heat a bit less but at this point it seems to be hardly noticeable (compared to a DECHA console however, or even a DECR, they use a LOT less power and dissipate much less heat, which also makes them more silent, that was already the case with the DECHJ when compared to DECHA units, but the slim versions are just at another level when it comes to that)

 

Yeah my only worry is that my DEH-H1000AS-E might ylod since it was manufactured in either late 2005 or early 06.

And I agree the TEST marking makes them damn sexy. Too bad the DEH-H1000AS-E doesn't have them either

EDIT: Also as an addendum, the TOOL markings on the DECR-14000 aren't just sexy, they are godlike.

 

Keep it super dust-free. My launch-ish retail unit went from jet-engine to Volkswagen noise levels (while stressed) with a thorough cleaning. Keep that baby cool and comfortable and it has one less reason to YLOD.

 

If it did ylod just have the chips reballed with lead solder the dust in these are a nightmare i was playing heavy rain and a few days later my saves whent all bad
does anyone know of a way to bypass saves protation ?
