WTB: SAMSUNG SATURN/LOOKING FOR ETC (please read)

Hi there, I'm looking to buy a samsung saturn. I know they're rare, but if you have one, PLEASE PM ME.
If you live in South Korea, or know anyone who may or do have it, I WILL PAY YOU to find one, buy it, and ship it to me. I will reimburse whatever it costs to for you to buy the system. If you can do this, let me know. I am completely serious, and with that being said, serious inquiries only.

I've been looking for one of these for some time. There aren't too many members on the boards in South Korea which is why I think I had trouble finding one. Samsung was the sole distributor of Sega hardware in South Korea for quite some time so I can't imagine that they're "rare" except anywhere not Korea.

 

From what I've heard alot of it just got trashed, people back then didn't seem to care much for this stuff once new things came out, so alot of it just got tossed into landfills.
I've seen one go on ebay for 717 dollars. I don't know if I can pay that much, especially if its boxless, broken, or missing essential pieces, but I'm still willing to pay alot.

 

Every time I visit Seoul I usually go and check. So far I was offered two Samsung Saturn but both time it was the console only with no way to check whether the thing even power on...

if you can get a hold of one, let me know. I don't care about the status, have plenty of cables at home, just really want the console, even if it doesn't work.

 

the problem was the shop owner won't even try to power on the console - basically take it as is...
I wasn't going to hand over the cash for what could be the piece of plastic tud all the way to down under~

if you know where to ask you can still find a lot of Saturn/Megadrive/PS1 consoles...
wish I have more time to hunt when I'm in Seoul. Always short of time and I'd be lucky to get about an hour or two of spare time to wonder off - I stay at relatives home fair way from the electronic plaza...

 

The biggest issue with buying old stuff from Korea is that Koreans treat their stuff far worse than westerners which in my opinion is awful. The Japanese are much better for finding old mint stuff but in Korea....... Most classic consoles are in really shitty condition, no box and possibly broken. Quite like China in many ways when it comes to old electronics. It's really sad because there was so much odd and rare Korean stuff in the early 90's.

 

I can't afford to fly to seoul, otherwise i would. if you live near or are going soon though, then I'd pay you to find one, buy it, and ship it to me.

@yakumo: yeah, alot of the stuff is actually trashed so im sure a fairly large amount of that stuff is in a big landfill rotting somewhere. It's a real shame, and it's probably the reason as to why these consoles are considerably rare. If these consoles weren't thrown out as soon as new stuff came in, or treated with some respect, then there would be many more out there.

 

don't forget a lot of Saturns also tucked away in the wardrobe all over the country. I keep hearing kids - well not kids as they are out of army service - found their old Saturn tucked away in their parents house along with their old school stuff...

Cool! I'm mainly trying for the samsung though, it's probably considered the rarest next to the Hi saturn Navi.
I'm serious guys! If you can get your hands on one or you live near a game shop that has one, I'll buy it off of you. I'll even pay you for looking for it!

 

any auction sites from south korea? I've only found auction.co.kr and gmarket, etc.

 

hi I know some body which have,but its only the console no box or av cable , works perfectly.
