As some of you might have read ,I've got a dead sega cd with a broken motherboard, and have been looking for a replacement motherboard for the unit ever since. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33194

I've been scowering ebay and actually found a donor unit, but it turns out the seller had incorrectly described the item as "doesnt read discs" ,meanwhile the unit doesnt power on and both the fuses and 2x main transistors aren't to blame for whats wrong on the unit, all said I've given up on fixing that aswell...

So what I am looking for is:

    1) A fully working sega cd model 1 or 2, that the seller is willing to ship to South Africa at a reasonable price :), if its a model 2 system the condition doesn't matter, I can re-use one of my current systems cases, it doesnt matter if its a PAL or NTSC-U unit.

I am NOT looking for a new in box unit, mint,or even a "complete" unit just the console itself.

    OR

    2) Just a working/tested motherboard out of a Sega Model 2(laser type doesnt matter as Ive got both), and this will ofcourse cost a lot less to ship as the motherboard is actually quite tinny ,it doesnt matter if its a PAL or NTSC-U unit.

PS I really dont want to burn my fingers on ebay again thats why I would rather ask here as I trust the members a lot more.

The model 1 is a bit of gamble getting here, like you said they have a lot of issues transporting especially the drives, how much do you want for it?

I would take you up on just the motherboard but the model 1 board wont fit in my model 2 :(

PS is this a different console than you mentioned in the other tread with the broken drive?

Thank you Raziel, but I am actually looking for something a bit cheaper to compensate for the shipping costs, while $100 is a fair amount in a retail setting, I am looking for a console that is a bit cheaper, and probably in a bit poorer condtion than retail consoles :)

But I still woundn't mind having a look at his website/shop incase he has something els I might like.

    Thanks again :)

If you want a model 1 try and get a PAL item. My Mega CD has a different loading mech than my busted Sega CD. The PAL looks much sturdier. The Sega CD I got is absolutely stuffed, shame really. Good luck with finding one.
