    Hey all,

Looking for exactly what it says on the tin: a Power Supply for an American Genesis Model 2.

Need it quite badly as I can't run my new Sega CD through a PAL Mega Drive, and my NTSC Genesis is currently without a power supply.~

Go to your local electronics store and get a universal PSU. It's 9V 1.2A, isn't it? Or just go on eBay.

If you're in a 240V country, a local PSU will work fine.

eBay, Amazon etc. will have suitable PSUs, too.

Won't it blow the Genesis if I use a 240v PSU from my own country?

no it won't. it is just the input voltage. output voltage is universal , (might be a few ampers different but not something important.)

9/10V 0.85A for the Mega Drive 2 (unless the Genesis was different). 1.2A for the Mega Drive / Genesis Model 1.
Not that 1.2A would do any damage since it would have more amps available to draw!
Wish I'd come across some power adapters like that before I bought a bunch of duckhead attached ones for myself.

If your PAL megadrive is a model 2 you could even use the psu from that

Or if you happen to have a PAL 32x, the psu from that would also do the job

Yea I dumped the bricks in favor of a single standard 8 shaped power cord for my Genesis.32x/Sega CD all in one. The trio adapters are absoluelty awesome. Now I have about 12 bricks sitting here I will never ever use.

Hmmm. I want one of those trio adapters now! I don't see a nice version with an Australian power plug on it though... :sorrow:
Good to see they are 100V-240V though! Maybe I'll just bend those pins... SNAP. :suspicion:

One one end is a figure 8 plug just add one from your region and you will be fine. The Trio is a 2 piece PSU. And I still have those bricks at a great price if anyone wants them. I just want them gone and I will give you 2 for one in this case!!
