The Saturn has a floppy drive?

What was it used for exactly. I mean, was it like the PS1 FDD where it would act as a memory card?

Sort of. The floppy drive was recognized by some games as a separate save medium with its own quirky access requirements. Panzer Dragoon Saga supported it directly, and I think that with most games you had to use a utility to move saves to and from disks. I've often wondered if it used a standard IDE drive, and if it therefore could be backward engineered so a body could build one.

I have been looking on ebay for about 7 years and I have seen them go for $75 to $150 (never was really looking to buy one till now), not even on the best of days will it go for what that clown is selling for on ebay. Second it the one on ebay isn't so that is even more of a price gauge. I am not looking for one new , just in very good shape . No cracks, dents, deep scratches, gashes ,yellowing or chunks of plastic missing.

These are more of a novelty IMHO. For a vast majority of games you'll need to use the boot disk to manually copy save games to and from memory. Unless your making massive Dezaemon games, I doubt it would be very useful.
