    Need to acquire a composite/S-Video cable for a Saturn. Hopefully cheaply! eBay is a ripoff with shipping and you guys usually come through for me.

    I also could REALLY use a model 2 modchip.

    I have a new boxed official JPN S-Video cable but I guess after shipping from Japan it would be just as much as those on Ebay.

    General dumb questions: First party video cables are always better than third party ones right?

    Also, would a JPN S-Video cable for a Japanese console (Let's say the Sega Saturn, for example) work on it's American counterpart?

    I've found that all Saturn units produce uniformly excellent video output of any type. Third-party cabling generally doesn't have a negative effect on the output, in my experience.

    To answer your other question directly, the DIN port is identical on Saturn units of all regions. The same video cables work on JPN, US and EU region hardware.

    The SCART cable I use on my Saturn is third party and it works just fine. :thumbsup:
