WTB: Sega Teradrive.

Exactly as the title says. I hear there was a SDK that ran on the PC side and could interface with the MD side through the ISA connection. Thought it would be cool to get this with a model 1 Mega CD and possibly even a 32X although the SDK most likely won't support them. Just want to have some cool rare Sega crap to add in my already large collection.

System doesn't have to be complete but does need to be in working order. Main tower needs to be complete since that's my main interest.

 

Anybody care to sell rare hardware?

I've got two, I might consider selling one. I've only got a single monitor/keyboard combo and set of system manuals, so I wouldn't be willing to part with them, but I might be willing to sell the second unit itself. I'll throw in disk images of all the software I have though, which includes the driver disk and various versions of the customised dos installation, and the very hard to come by puzzle construction software, which is the only known example of the PC hardware communicating with the Mega Drive hardware. I can scan in the main system manuals for you to provide you with digital copies. Note that while you can use the PC side with a normal monitor, you'll need a line doubler in order to play mega drive games through a monitor, although there is composite out on the system that you can use instead.

Feel free to make an offer if you're interested. I have a technical interest in this system though, and it took me a long time to get my hands on everything. I'm not actually sure how much I'd be willing to let it go for, but if you make me an offer, I'll consider it. Also note that I'm in Australia, so you'll need to factor in shipping. Probably around $100AUD to ship out the tower, which isn't too bad really. It cost me around $500AUD to ship the complete system with the monitor over here a few years back. I can get an accurate figure for shipping if you're interested in buying it.

 

^ I saw that 2 years ago a Teradrive went for almost $600 USD on FleaBay complete in box. Taking inflation and missing parts into account my starting offer for the tower is in USD $500 if revision 1, $525 for revision 2, and $550 for revision 3. I'm flexible on those though. It will take a while to scrap the money up so bear with me.
