Guess you didn't read Assembler's "I want a VGA box" thread.

EDIT: You did...and commented in it. Well, good luck.

Well why for some reason they go for insane amounts on ebay. I have seen online retailers sell them for around 69 USD a few months back new.

So its not that bad really if its used. And if thats too much of a cut, then what can I say. As people were disscussing in the other thread a 3rd party one like the performance should do the job just fine, and for such a simple circuit its not worth 100 USD. Still I listed it as obviously I'd prefer the official one.

I've got a Sega brand jump pack I'm willing to part with but I won't be back in town until Tuesday. Think I've still got the packaging that came with it.

    WTB:

Enzo Ferrari in red. Preferably mint condition in blood red with cream leather interior.

I'd also like that really fit Victoria's Secret model in the passenger seat and I'd like for her to have a thing for giving me head whenever I want.

In the glove box I'd like a million dollars in used notes.

(I'd be willing to spend up to 100 USD).

Honestly I don't appreciate that snide comment. Dude that seriously wasn't neccessary and if you looked in the other thread on the VGA adaptor you would've found that just today on yahoo japan one closed for ($54) and this auction includes the box. So for a used one without a box I think $45 is a okay offer. As I mentioned above I would appreciate one, but I'd be willing to go for a 3rd party one.

that's actually pretty much $60, yen is strong, dollar really weak, add to that shipping cost, and you're pretty much spending $70 if you live in Japan(which you're not), we have to import from there and naturally price will significantly rise.
maybe yakumo can hook you up, I think he has it, probably won't sell it though(not for less $100 I think).
there is something about this official Sega VGA box, aesthetics, this sexy look to it, other 3rd party boxes look like toys, heh.

I think your right. And I agree most of them do the same job, so of course its the look that matters.

In the end though I did find something on ebay that looks pretty much well similar to the Official one. So I think I'm good for that.

I've contacted APE about the rumble pack. But, if anyone has a Rumble Pak + Grey Controller + VMU I'd be willing to do that.

Well I think anyone who makes a "I'm willing to pay less than the actual value for an item that I probably want to buy more than you want to sell" post leaves themselves open to a ribbing, and anyone who acts surprised to receive such a ribbing really needs to check up on the concept of "supply and demand". ;-)

    But yeah, good luck!

Well yes and no. I did say I was looking for a offical one, however, I also did note that

Obviously there I make it clear that yes I want an offical one, but knowing that third party ones go for like 15-20 USD this I'm willing to purchase one of those instead. Still I listed that I was definitely willing to pay up to a certain point for the offical one, in case of the slight chance someone was willing to part with it.

That said and done, I have come across a VGA Box that suits my needs , as it does look similar to the offical one.

$54 at the market. No bidding service offers market exchange rates. So: $61 final price + $12 comission + $2 transfer fee + $3-5 internal shipping. That's $75-$80 before it even gets to you. EMS shipping on that's probably another $15.

Now, whether it's "worth it or not" is a valid claim. I don't think most items are worth what they go for, so I don't buy them. But when people tell me "this is what I'll pay" for item X "if I find it", all that tells me is to not bother. Why sell cheaper when there are plenty that will pay market value?

I probably should have mentioned that $45 did not include shipping. So had we been on the price is right perhaps I might've been successful :110:. Its not like I was off $100. I wonder what Bob Barker would say, "the price is wrong bitch".

And as for why someone would take a twenty dollar cut there could be plenty of reasons.

I mean I know sometimes I've been in a rush to sell something cause I'm strapped for cash, I've taken a bit of a price cut. Heck anyone whose bought a used Gamecube game from a video game store like EB games is getting ripped off. Sometimes I'm just plain impaitent to set up a ebay auction and blah blah.

    Meh whatever lol.
