    Hello everyone!

I'm not sure what PS2 revision I have (it's somewhere else), but I'm looking to install one as my slim PS2 is starting to have major problem reading games.

Are all official PS2 harddrives compatible with the right revisions?

    What size are they? 20GiB?

    Only bump once a week.

The fat PS2 had the network adapter sold, at least in the UK, for fitting your own hard drive. The official one was 40Gb though, I believe.

Wasn't aware of the new rule. Thanks for the heads up.

    Yes, I have a fat PS2 SCPH-30001

I can fit my own IDE drive?

Yep, Just get the network adapter for it.
I use a 80GB I took from an old PC that I found, Just toss the hacked HDD-OSD on it and you are set.

I will point out tho that I had to remove the shielding on the adapter to be able to use the HDD as the power and IDE was just a bit the far appart otherwise.

    There's only one network adapter.

SATA to IDE is slow on the Xbox - no idea on the PS2 but probably the same.

Sony network adapters are either with modem (USA), or no modem (most other countries).

It's rare to find the US non-modem version. Linux Kit includes one.

Wait so the US adapter with only one port is rare?.... uh... Exactly how rare we talking cause it is sorta the one I took the shielding off of....

If you're still looking, I currently have the 40 GB OEM hard drive separate from the actual adapter. I upgraded my adapter to a 120 GB (non OEM) and the 40 GB is gathering dust. I have the original bracket and shield attached to the hard drive. Looking at eBay, this along with the Network Adapter is selling for 40-50 at the very least. I can do $20 +$3.25 shipping. I have very good feedback on eBay (around 400+ sales with 99.1% rating.) I also ship using ESD safe bubble wrap.
