I want to put my debug PSX on a shelf and for my imports have a stealth modchip installed into my Playstation. The problem is, I can't find a place that still sells the PSX modchip. Does anyone have one they'd sell?

I know I have one somewhere (it's the 7-wire stealth one, worked a treat). I got a 3 for 2 offer years back and never used the third one. I kept the wire too - no instructions though.......and have now sold the PSX.

I got mine from www.mod-chip.com - do they still sell them? Just checked - doesn't look like it.

if the console is the old type with the parallel port at the back can't you use the backup(?) device that goes in there which allows to play pretty much anything(?)....

The "Plug-Mod" type devices are the ultimate Swap-Trick and suffer similar problems. You must have a game with the same track layout or a compatible one as your original boot disc. This usually means any game that uses Audio tracks is off limits for you. For most games it'll work ok though you may need cheat codes to kill Anti-Mod protections. Stealth modchips are better since they just boot whatever the hell you've got and that's that.

Really? I never once had that problem with mine (track layout that is). I just used whatever to boot up and popped in whatever I wanted to play.

It didn't defeat FF8 and Resident Evil Dead Aim's protection though, but swap tricks didn't either if memory serves.

    hmmm...
The one I used just let me stick in the disc regardless of the region and play it?
By the way I never used other than retail disc~

A little Offtipic: As far as I remember, Vandal Hearts 2 (US) don`t work on an PAL PS1, unless you also use an Gameshark/Action Replay Code. This is not a Modchip Protection, because this game don`t work on a PAL Net Yaroze.

    Greetings Markus
