    I am interested in:

    - plugging north american games into my japanese SFC (bypassing region lockout and avoiding physical modification)

    - loading roms from my PC to the super famicom via parallel port, thus eliminating all cartridge/diskette/etc. swapping

I believe that a Super wildcard DX2 does these things (and more).

I think the only other specification is the size of memory on the unit, and I'd like to shoot for 64mbit.

I don't care about boxes or manuals, etc., but I DO care about the unit being in as good of physical shape as possible.

    Thanks.

Also, making sure - if I have a Japanese super famicom, then I need the NTSC swcdx2, and the cartridge slot on top of that swcdx2 will accomodate north american NTSC carts as well as Japanese ones, yes ?

yes, you can plug every Cart on the SWC!
Contact Far East if you look for an DX2. They have some Units for 199$. And When you will play Games directly without diskette, buy the Disk Dual too. The best solution i think.
    Greetings

Contact this email: ffe@ms3.hinet.net and you get what you want! On the HP you dont see the SWC but they have if you contact. Also they can make you an better price if you take the SWC + Disk Dual.

Thanks for your response. I am going to email FFE, as suggested above, and if it's easy to get a brand new SWC maxed out at 96mb, I will do that.

Otherwise I will be contacting you via PM.

    Thanks to all.

96Mbit? The highest SFC Game i know is Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia with 48MBit. So far the Black DX2 has 64Mbit.

Yes, I know, but theoretically a swcdx2 can be maxed out at 96mb, so I figure if I am buying a new one from FFE, I might as well max it out :)

Umm, why?!?! That's pointless if the extra is never going to be used. Spending money for no reason. I don't even know if they'd do it.

FFE always said in the past they don't sell 96M units. Last I heard they don't even work on old units which is what that'd require, the know-how left a long time ago, they just have old stock to sell.

Also looking at the RAM board it appears to "support" 128M, but since only 95M is decoded with !ROMSEL, and the DX2 doesn't have GD-esque bankswitching... yeah not too smart of an upgrade.

Thanks for that information. I wasn't thinking of upgrading it, I was just assuming that it would be an off the shelf item for them.

Since it is not, I won't bother with more than what their existing stock has specced.

I am buying a brand new one directly from FFE, so this WTB thread can be considered closed.

Thanks to jackhead for the email contact and others for the comments.

$210, which includes shipping, for a 64mb unit.

They also have new diskdual units for $150.

I wasn't going to order a diskdual, but now I think I might as well.

I was at 190$ for the DX2 include shipping. When i take the Disk Dual too he make it together for 310$ include shipping.
But of corse i had to pay Tax for it...
