Hi everyone! Im looking for 1 or 2 video cards. something at least a 8600 or 8800 and it must be PCIexpress.

If you just have a single card thats good but if you have a sli matched pair thats even better. Let me know what your looking for in the way of cash or trades and I will see what I can do. I dont need boxs or manuals but the cards need to be in good working order. Thanks and let me know!

I have an XFX Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT, with 1 GB of video memory. I've had it for almost a year now, and I recently swapped it out with a GTX 260. So right now, it's just sitting in an anti-static bag by my spare powersupply.

    It's not PCI-E, but it's PCI-E x16. I wasn't even aware of PCI-E 8600s and above. Although, I could be wrong.

I'd assume that's what he meant, mainly differentiating between PCI-express and AGP.

I agree, but he could always just be stuck with an old motherboard with a PCI-E slot and never got into researching the stuff. PCI-E is alot smaller than PCI-E x16.

    What?

PCI-E slots on motherboards are typically 1x, 8x or 16x. If it's not PCI-E it would just be PCI, which is ancient now. Unless you're talking about PCI-X? :banghead:

If he has a PCI-E slot, then he's most likely going to have a 16x slot, they're easily the most common.

Eh, I believe I've seen some motherboards with PCI-E slots without PCI-E x16. I could be wrong though. Most of the stuff I know I only know because it was something I needed to know at the time I learned it.
